April's Agent of the Month is James Soliday! Proud recipient of back to back "One Million Dollar Month" sales awards, we sat down with James to discuss real estate, his personal life, and what makes him so successful.

James broke into real estate 3 years ago, after spending extensive time in the construction industry. “I started to think about the toll that construction work was sustaining on my body, and knew this wasn't something I could do forever.” James looked toward selling Real Estate as a way to move out of the construction industry and spend more time with his family. In his personal life, nothing is more important to James than his family. James loves golfing, the outdoors, and pairs his enthusiasm for fishing with his love of boating. If James isn’t selling homes, he’s certainly enjoying the outdoors with his family! On the less than beautiful weather days in Western New York, his Italian heritage draws him to cooking shows on television, as well as HGTV's Flip or Fix!

James brings a very personable and family like approach to Real Estate. “I want to form a lifelong relationship with my clients, and I have over the years.'' His most memorable sale is his first one, which was quite some time ago, and included moving an elderly woman who lived in the countryside of the wintry east coast, down to warm and sunny Florida! To this day, James still speaks with this client via text messaging and even provides updates on his family life. “I still speak with her to this day, I’ll provide updates on my life and even how my kids are doing.” His favorite part of Real Estate is helping people. Buying a home is such an important and momentous occasion in someone's life, and James loves being part of it. “Helping a person with their next journey in life is so rewarding.”  

A seller of both commercial and residential real estate, James enjoys the rush of selling property. He loves to look back on his sales and think to himself, “I did that.” It's no secret that real estate sales have the power to transform people's lives. As James points out, “Seeing the happiness and gratitude they get out of the job I’ve done for them, [that] keeps me going day after day."

To wrap up the interview, we asked James what sets him apart from others in his area, and he responded as follows: “I feel there is a negative stigma surrounding realtors and what we do. Plenty of people come up to us with their guard up. I want those people to know we are here to help at the end of the day. I make it as easy as possible and make you feel like you’re talking with not just a friend, but a family member. I want to make you feel like you’re family.”
